Working on behalf of Freshwater Group, we provided cost consultancy services on the three phases of work carried out in Newton Aycliffe town centre. Works included demolition of existing buildings, renovations and adaptations of existing retail units, new build retail and extensive public realm improvement works. The end result was a much enhanced asset to both the town and our client’s portfolio, with the final phase (public realm works) winning the much coveted British Council of Shopping Centres Gold Award for refurbishment and/or extension below £5m at the 2014 awards ceremony.
